Why Many People Rent Cars in Grand Cayman

While there’s plenty to consider and think about when vacationing in Grand Cayman, car rentals should be at the top of the list. Many people don’t consider this as the island is relatively small. Grand Cayman car rentals can seem unnecessary especially when you consider public transit and hotel shuttles. But there is so much to do and see in Grand Cayman that it’s not worth wasting valuable time by waiting around for someone to pick you up. Instead consider a Grand Cayman car rental.

If you decide to rent a car, make sure you reserve yours immediately. Rental cars are very popular on the island for the aforementioned reasons. This is especially important if you plan on visiting Grand Cayman over Christmas, Thanksgiving or any of the other popular seasons.

Another reason many people decide not to rent a car is because they’re from countries where they drive on the right side of the road. In Grand Cayman, they drive on the left. This also means the steering wheel is on the right hand side of the car. Although some rental agencies have cars where the steering wheel is moved to the left, these are rare and won’t save you from needing to drive on the other side of the road. You won’t be the first tourist to take this challenge on, though, so it shouldn’t keep you from renting a car.
